Talha Siddique is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Center for Coastal and Ocean Mapping (CCOM). He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from University of New Hampshire (UNH), where his research focused on developing a low-cost, machine learning-enabled magnetometer system for real-time space weather applications. Prior to his doctoral studies, Talha earned an M.S. in Natural Resources with a specialization in Environmental Economics from UNH and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from BRAC University.
His expertise lies at the intersection of remote sensing, embedded and edge machine learning, Bayesian ML, and sensor fusion, with a strong background in computational economics and algorithm optimization for resource-constrained environments. Currently, his research focuses on advancing the autonomy of Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs) for bathymetric surveying. His work integrates transformer models, data fusion, and edge computing to enhance real-time navigation, obstacle avoidance, and survey data quality assessment, ensuring compliance with international hydrographic standards.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Talha enjoys reading, following his favorite sports, and, most importantly, spending quality time with his partner, Priya, including exploring new cuisines and restaurants together.
