Michael is a B.Sc. Graduate of Ocean Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology, previously serving six years in the Air Force. In January of 2017, he received his commission in the NOAA Corps, serving aboard NOAA Ship Rainier as a Junior Officer and then an Operations Officer before reporting to the Marine Operations Center – Pacific serving as Fleet Data Technology Manager. While there, he developed and implemented NOAA’s Optionally Crewed Hydrographic Launch program on the NOAA Ships Rainier and Fairweather. He then served as Operations Officer on the NOAA Ship Fairweather throughout Southeast Alaska and into the Bearing Sea. He enjoys spending time with this wife and three children, tinkering, and playing board and card games of all kinds. He hopes to apply his hands-on technical and project management skills to further CCOM’s mission of developing hydrographic equipment and operations.
