Elizabeth (Liz) Kretovic is the Deputy to the Director of NOAA’s Center of Excellence for Operational Ocean and Great Lakes Mapping. She is a retired NOAA Commissioned Officer, and was the Commanding Officer of NOAA Ship Hi’ialakai and served as Deputy Hydrographer where she established the Precision Marine Navigation Program prior to retiring from active service. Liz spent three years working in the burgeoning U.S. offshore wind industry where she supported maritime stakeholder engagement and business development prior to rejoining NOAA. She holds a B.S. in Marine Safety and Environmental Protection and an M.S. in Maritime Business Management from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. She's an avid golfer and enjoys traveling and listening to live music.
