Abstract
A map is a context-specific presentation, and in order to successfully convey the intended information it must honor the data and always keep the intended usage in mind. In many cases, varying degrees of generalization must occur in order to highlight the data of most importance for the intended user. This seminar will open a dialogue about the some of the critical map elements, and discuss some of the decisions necessary for producing navigational products and the methods for doing so.
