Emily Terry joined the staff at CCOM in 2009 as Research Vessel Mate / Relief Captain, and holds a USCG 100 ton near coastal license. She focuses on operating and maintaining the Research Vessel Cocheco, and serves as mate and relief captain aboard the Coastal Surveyor. At the office, she is taking on responsibility for some of CCOM’s oceanographic equipment, and provides support to several classes. She came to CCOM from the NOAA Ship Fairweather where she worked for three years as a member of the deck department, separating from the ship as a Seaman Surveyor. Prior to working for NOAA, she spent five years working aboard traditional sail vessels.
